A look at the 2010 ARTEC snowboards range for real!

It’s funny coz we are not even in the high of the winter season but still core riders are already looking for what the brands are preparing for their 2009/2010 collections…Here we give you Artec.
ARTEC is one of those snowboard brands that we are really stoked on and backing 200%. Why? First of all because it is the brain child of all round nice guy and true snowboarding ambassador of style: Blaise Rosenthal. But also because ARTEC has a real identity and attitude driven by the group of authentic individuals that make up its team: Gabe Taylor, Nima Jalali, Gus Engle, Johnny Miller and Laura Hadar.
As the name says it all ARTEC is the blending of art and technology. The boards are build by Elan – one of the most reliable and technicaly advanced manufacturer – but the brand’s spirit and soul is in the heart of California. This combination guarantees ARTEC boards to be among the best decks out there!
We visited the Elan P-Lab just before New Year and got the opportunity to see and touch the new 2010 ARTEC collection that includes boards of course, but also new for next year, bindings, a snowdeck and apparel. As Nima puts it: “ARTEC has an image that snowboarding isn’t even ready for!”. We like to thing that it’s true.

All the decks really have solid graphics. Nima, Laura and Gabe’s promodels have similar type of graphics but each expresses the personality of each rider. Nima is into Reverberation and guitars for his deck that is oriented towards park, rails and kicker supremacy. Gabe stays true to invincible crowns on his all round twin tip board. And Laura’s blunt twin deck is for girl’s with a killer spirit.

Next to the prodecks, you’ll find the top of the line technical freestyle twin tip FIGMENT which features Asymetrical Omega side cut, and Carbotec Lite Construction. On the other side of the spectrum is the top of the line PHENOM an all terrain freestyle deck for powerful riders. The CIPHER is a buttery freestyle deck which comes with a blunt twin tip shape. While two more affordable decks round up the range: the VENUS for the ladies and the NOVUS for the guys. All boards come in various sizes and some as the NOVUS, CIPHER or the Gabe Taylor come in Wide as well.

The board range is complete with a couple of bindings: the top pf the line CODE (featured below), designed to provide maximum freestyle performance with graphics matching most of the decks; the MATRIX a high performance freestyle binding, and the PHASE a freestyle binding for the female form (featured below). There is no hiding that the bindings are common to Elan in terms of features.
