2011 Collections from Burton, DC, Forum, Nitro, Artec and more!

Today we spend the day at the Snow Avant Premiere in La Clusaz, where we were able to get an exclusive look at most of the new collections and ride some 2011 decks in some pretty perfect conditions! In this post we have put together a collection of slideshows presenting boards, boots, bindings or outerwear from Burton, Artec, Bataleon, DC, Forum, Flow, Ride, K2, Salomon, Thirty Two, Lib Tech, Gnu , Roxy, Jones snowboards, YES, Antti Autti, Nitro, Union and Eleven.
Enjoy the overview, more details and description will come after ISPO tradeshow in February.
BURTON 2011
Donno what’s happening with the Burton International team, but what’s for sure is that the Big B is preparing a solid collection for 2011 again. There are some new decks appearing like the Wammy Bar for jibs, the Process based on Jussi’s prodeck but accessible to all riders, or the Sherlock, all mountain board, as well as a new hybrid camber shape (W shape) that is better for all-round riding and more appropriate for intermediate riders. shaun White’s prodeck has a shape that reminds the Balance from a few years back, with narrow waist line for pipe domination. It also comes as an entry level, with mellowed out features. The EST system has been improved and will be compatible with bindings from other brands. Talking about bindings, they almost all have nice big straighter asym spoilers and the very smart strap design.
DC 2011
DC changed a lot of things for their 2011 collection and present a tighter range build in a new production facility. Quality was not so satisfying in 2010, but that’s corrected for 2011! All the boards are light, poppy and really tech. I rode the Devun Walsh 157 and had a blast with it in the powdery conditions. It’s a regular positive camber board with blunt shape perfect for all mountain domination.
Along the Lauri, and Ikka prodecks, there is also an Aaron Bittner limited edition. DC is definitely doing it right in 2011. Their boots are also pretty sick: light and with some innovations like the double boa, and increased breathability system. One boot model has a low inner lining for an increased boot fleixbility and skatestyle riding. Did I mention the outerwear? Well it’s looking damn good with a Pixel line collection that rules.
FORUM 2011
Forum has an impressive team and a serious board, binding and boot program. The other brands from the Program like Foursquare and Special Blend have some nice designs in the collections.
LIB TECH 2011 + GNU 2011
In 2011, you won’t be able to find a deck without banana camber in the Lib Tech collection and that’s good! I rode the Banana Magic 157 and it’s totally awesome! So much pop, so much all round fun! Magne traction is also a standard feature now across the range. Buying Lib Tech or Gnu is the guarantee to get a board manufactured with care and love from Mervin and that’s important too. Oh yeah and Lib is coming out with skis in 2011. Word.
NITRO 2011
The Eero Ettala and Cherryl Maas prodecks are still there and the Nitro range is looking as solid as ever.
ARTEC 2011
I like Artec so what? Design stands out and the boards quality is top notch. Along the Gabe Taylor and Nima Jalali prodecks to name a few, there are also a very pop looking Poprocker and a technical freestyle Altrocker!
BATALEON 2011
Bataleon prepared a very fresh looking collection for 2011 and we like that! Still standing out with their triple base technology and offbeat graphics. No new models but new shapes and some seriously crazy Artist Edition Series with Antistrot Collective. Their boards are still not flat and still don’t have rocker tech coz they don’t need too…except for a limited edition US Edition that actually claims “rocker” on the base. That’s it!
K2 2011
Big player and big collection for K2 again. Some nice innovations on the bindings to look out for.
RIDE 2011
ROXY 2011
This one is for the ladies. The jewel of the Roxy collection is the Tora Bright prodeck of course with banana and magnetraction making it the ultimate women shred stick!
YES 2011
Check out what RDM, JPS and DCP have come up with for 2011:
ANTTI AUTTI 2011
Antti Autti is working with NDK for his own board brand and this is the result. Girls are gonna love the graphics.
JONES 2011
Another collaboration with Swiss manufacturer Nidecker is Jones Snowboards. True to his values, Jeremy Jones proposes a freeride board with a very ecofriendly approach in the materials and production.
FLOW 2011
From the inventors of the back-entry, are a few pics from the up-coming Flow collection!
SALOMON 2011
Yes Salomon make boards and it’s been a while now. And there boards, boots and bindings even look good and ride good!
UNION 2011
Our favorite binding company is pushing the envelop in terms of binding design and graphics.
THIRTY TWO 2011
Solid boot collection including the JP Walker signature model, as well as a serious outerwear line that’s gonna shake thing up!
ELEVEN 2011
The swiss brand is improving year after year and once again blows are mind with technical details and graphics that make their outerwear stand out! Just one picture here but more after ISPO for sure!
