What is different for 2013? New ideas, new materials, new technologies?

• RAIDEN DUAL AIR DAMPENING – The Dual AIR concept extends the shock absorbing qualities known from heel airbags to the toe area while significantly reducing the weight of the binding.
• NEW 2×4 MINI DISC – We completely redesigned our signature Mini Disc with some additional features.
• NEW A-Frame Chassis – Our latest addition to the Raiden line of binding chassis, the A-Frame chassis is lightweight and sturdy, offering all the performance features that will enhance your every-day riding experience.
• NEW ASYM CARBON BEAM HIGHBACK – Unlike many similar designs, this new highback is constructed entirely of carbon fiber. It’s unique design and structure makes it our lightest and most responsive highback to date.

What is the most excited thing/model in upcoming collection? Why?

• The Machine’s new asym Carbon Beam highback and carbon reinforced FTI EVO 2 AIR chassis provide mind altering response. The canted Dual AIR dampening throughout the whole binding lets you go faster, feel more comfortable and saves your knees to ride another day. Turn on the Machine and ride.

Any special dumping/impact system for softer landings?

• The Dual AIR concept extends the shock absorbing qualities known from heel airbags to the toe area while significantly reducing the weight of the binding. FEA optimized cushion columns provide the support and response you can rely on. During hard landings, these dampeners collapse and efficiently absorb energy, while an additional gel insert in the heel eliminates high frequency vibration. This team trusted dampening platform helps them go bigger and ride longer.

Did you do improvements with weight of the bindings?

• NEW 2×4 MINI DISC – We completely redesigned our signature Mini Disc with some additional features. The weight has been reduced using a fiber-reinforced composite material, allowing the binding to be mounted and microadjusted on any common 2×4 insert pattern. The smaller disc means more space to cushion your ride without sacrificing adjustability while the small mounting footprint combined with a slightly softer material significantly reduces the binding’s impact on the board flex.

Any new or different straps?

• NEW PROFILED ERGO CUT ANKLE STRAP – Using an ergonomically shaped outline, these straps have a tapered profile towards both ends to fit more snugly in the connection areas while still providing lots of cush in the central impact zone.
• NEW PROFILED ASYM ERGO CUT ANKLE STRAP WITH FLEX WINDOW – We have developed an asymetrical shape for more medial flex for freestyle riding while supporting the lateral side of the boot. Combined with a tapered thickness profile, this stap is the ultimate in control and freedom.
• NEW CONTOUR CUT ANKLE STRAP WITH FLEX WINDOW – This new design provides both flexibility and control, combined in one lightweight and comfortable package.
