BURN RIVER JUMP

Yesterday afternoon the Burn River Jump Slopestyle Finals took place beneath Livigno’s bluebird skies. The world class Mottolino park was transformed into a playground for 30 snowboarders hailing from across Europe. The park was shaped to provide a spectacular 5 star TTR Slopestyle course comprising of 3 kickers, a Burn jib can and punch bag feature.

With the burn flowing, the BBQ sizzling and the tunes a-rocking, the crowd basked in the sun and soaked up the action as awesome runs were thrown down.

Burn rider Ulrik Badertscher pulled an insane run early on in the contest. With a Hardway’360’180′off’ / ‘Backside’Air’ / ‘Backside’1080’ / ‘Backside’ Rodeo’900’ / ’Cab’1080’ he stunned spectators and contestants alike.  Holding onto first place right until the final moments of the comp when fellow Norwegian, Emil Ulsletten, stomped his third and final run to claim victory.  Staale Sandbech, current leader of the overall TTR ranking was also on form throughout the contest and narrowly missed out on a podium place in the final minutes of the comp.

In the Words of Ulrik and Staale:

Ulrik:  ‘It was a sunny, beatiful day and I was stoked on my run. But Emil deserved the win and it was cool he got first place. For sure the Burn River Jump is gonna be cool tomorrow’

Staale: ‘It was a good day, and it was cool having so many Norwegians around – it felt like riding back home, but it was sunny! I was on the podium for the most of the day which always makes a comp more fun. But even when I got knocked off, it was all of my friends in front of me, so it’s all good. Now i just try to do better for the Burn River Jump tomorrow.’

A great start to the Burn River Jump event with maximum excitement and tense finishes, and for sure the standard has been set high for tomorrow’s exciting Bir Air event over Livigno’s River Spoel.
