In the beautiful Bregenzerwald region at the western end of Austria there lies a snowpark at 2090 meters height, that is known far over the boarders of Vorarlberg. It is the Pleasure Diedamspark, which is a popular playground for all freestyle levels. The home-resort of Austria’s snowboard-superstar Gigi Rüf is infamous for its open backcountry and the many opportunities.
Already in its first season 06/07, the park won the title „newcomer of the year” in the independent European snowpark ranking on snow-parks.com. Since then the park holds its high quality through professional planning and maintenance of QParks. A main characteristic are the smooth jumps that are perfectly arranged into various lines, and also guarantee a maximum level of security. The setup provides for beginners as well as for pros a high variation. Freestyle newcomer can explore the world of boxes and rail jibbing and learn their first jumps at the easy kicker line with 2 to 6 meter tables. The proline is the highlight for each freestyle heart, shreadheads can look forward to kickers with up to 15 meter tables, crazy box and rail variations and sick wood jibs. Also in the coming season 2011/2012 there will be a high quality level and a unique park setup. We can look forward with which ideas park designer Kurt Auer and his crew will surprise this season.
As one of the snow-safest areas in Austria, locals can often do some first powder shreds, while others are still waiting for the first dump. With a large variety of cliffs and excellent kicker landings, the Diedamskopf is a first-class freeride area. After accepting a half-hour hike to the Neuhornbach-house you can enjoy an endless backcountry playground that offers seemingly endless possibilities. The bowl at the Krüzlilift is a classic! But be cautious, the area at the Diesdamskopf is in parts very steep and often avalanche-endangered, so make sure to never ride alone and to carry a safety gear. Furthermore, there exist some protected areas in the forest around the Neuhornbach-house. Not only you’ll lose your ticket but also run in danger to get some serious problems with the police, should you get caught there.
Besides the unique concept and the quality standard of the Diedamspark, big jumps are the main reason for many film and photo crews to keep coming back to the Diedamskopf year after year. The Diedamskopf just rocks and is worth every visit!
